Dr. Jessica Kudlats, DDS

Dr Jessica Kudlats, known to most as Dr. Jessi, has been in private practice for more than twenty years serving Toronto and the GTA. She has an extensive following that includes moms and dads, toddlers and grandparents, musicians, designers, actors, hockey players and more. Always an artist at heart, Dr. Kudlats found the perfect balance of medicine and design when she founded Leaside Dentistry in 2011. She practices with a discerning eye for detail and ambition for patient satisfaction. With a soft touch, engaging personality and her love for people, Dr. Kudlats prides herself in establishing a natural rapport with her patients. She truly believes in patient-centered care in which she will work with you to choose the treatment that best suits your needs.

After graduating with high distinction from McGill University, with a Bachelor of Science degree, Dr. Kudlats went on to graduate with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2002. Before entering private practice, Dr. Kudlats completed a one year residency at Sunnybrook Hospital where she honed her skills in emergency dentistry and oral pathology. She had the opportunity to assist in many maxillo-facial surgeries, giving her a greater understanding of facial aesthetics and its relationship to creating pleasing smiles. Early in her career, Dr. Kudlats traveled to Northern Ontario on several occasions to provide dental care for Indigenous communities. In 2001, Dr Kudlats spent a summer working in New York City's Mt. Sinai Hospital honing her skills further in emergency dentistry, oral surgery and oral pathology.

Dr. Kudlats is a member of the prestigious Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club. She regularly attends continuing education courses each year and is committed to staying informed and trained in the latest techniques to provide the best possible quality of care to her patients. She is also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario

Today, Dr. Kudlats focuses on all disciplines of dentistry with an emphasis on children's dentistry, restorative and implant dentistry.

Dr. Jessi has girl-boy twins who are the the loves of her life. She enjoys going to the gym regularly to keep both a physical and mental well-being. Her other joys are her love for travelling and her love for food!

Dr. Kudlats enjoys balancing work and family and feels her patience is a true reflection of this relationship.

Dr. Jennifer Hittner, DDS

Dr. Jennifer Hittner obtained her Bachelors of Science with High Distinction from the University of Toronto. Following this, she continued at the University of Toronto to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Hittner graduated at the top of her dental school class. She received numerous awards throughout her academic years, including the Dean's Gold Medal, awarded for outstanding performance. Additional awards include multiple awards for highest academic achievement, as well as awards in oral diagnosis, clinical restorative dentistry, preventive dentistry, and comprehensive patient care.  Upon graduation, Dr. Hittner was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honour Dental Society.

Since opening Leaside Dentistry in 2011, Dr. Hittner has both lived and worked in the community with her husband and two sons.  She feels honoured to have watched friends become patients, and patients become friends.  Although not currently in clinical practice, Dr. Hittner maintains an active administrative role at Leaside Dentistry.

Dr. Jennifer Zelunka, DDS

Dr. Jennifer Zelunka graduated with honours from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 2004. Following graduation, she entered into a residency at Sick Kids Hospital and Holland Bloorview in Toronto. While there she developed expertise in treating children as well as medically compromised patients and those with special needs. Her gentle and friendly approach makes both children and adults feel relaxed in her dental chair. Dr. Zelunka is committed to continuing  her dental education by attending various study clubs and lectures in order to provide her patients with the highest level of care. She is a member of the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club, the Ontario Dental Association and the Royal College of Dentists of Ontario.

While not practicing dentistry Dr. Zelunka is a mom of 3 who enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

Dr. Elias Fahed, DDS

Dr. Fahed has been practicing dentistry in the GTA for the past 10 years. He is a passionate clinician who enjoys treating and connecting with patients of all ages. He prides himself in providing exceptional care and an excellent patient experience through his calm, friendly, patient-centered approach. He firmly believes in practicing with integrity and transparency. 

Dr. Fahed has extensive experience with our Cerec same-day crown technology. He is also trained in the application of Botox injections for the relief of TMJ and jaw pain and tension, as well as lip filler injections for facial symmetry.

Dr. Fahed completed an honours degree in human biology at U of T before continuing on to study dentistry at U of T as well. Through many courses taken over the years, Dr. Fahed continues to develop his skill set and grow his passion for dentistry.

Dr. Shaunna Hamat, DDS

Dr. Shaunna Hamat was born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario. She received her honours bachelor of science degree from the University of Western Ontario. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Western, receiving the Canadian Academy of Periodontology Award as well as graduating with distinction.

Dr. Hamat is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry. She loves treating patients of all ages, emphasizing the importance of early preventative care. She strives to ensure all her patients are comfortable during appointments and believes that all treatment should be individualized for every patient's needs and concerns. She continues to dedicate herself to continuing dental education and is a member of the ODA, the CDA, the AGD, Alpha Omega and the RCDSO.

Periodontist

Dr. Melissa Goodman, DDS

Dr. Melissa Goodman earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2006.  During her training, she participated in an externship in Paris, France, and was the recipient of numerous awards for clinical and academic achievements. She went on to complete her specialty certificate in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at New York University and graduated in 2010. Her high standing won her the clinical award for excellence in postgraduate Periodontics. She is a member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

As a board-certified periodontist, Dr. Goodman’s scope of practice includes the non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal diseases, periodontal tissue regeneration and periodontal soft tissue grafting. She also has extensive training in the surgical placement of dental implants, including immediate implants, bone grafting (including guided bone regeneration and maxillary sinus augmentation), complicated extractions and soft tissue grafting to enhance the aesthetics around dental implants.

Dr. Goodman believes in prevention first and foremost. She strives to provide her patients with the best treatment options available, focusing on what is necessary for their long-term oral health.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Mark Cicci, DDS

Dr. Cicci graduated with honours from the Faculty of Dentistry from the University of Toronto in 1992. He completed his certification for IV sedation at the University of Southern California. He also participates regularly in continuing education and advanced training courses throughout the country. He enjoys spending time with his family and he is an avid golfer.

Dr. Ronit Weizblit, DDS

Dr. Ronit Weizblit graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 2009 after completing an Honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. She completed further training at The Mount Sinai Hospital general residency program in New York City. While there, she developed experience with craniofacial trauma, oral surgery, oral cancer, paediatrics, and general dentistry. Dr. Weizblit regularly attends continuing education courses in order to offer a high quality of care. She has completed a mini residency in implant placement, courses in endodontics (root canals), surgical extractions, and crowns. Dr. Weizblit is further trained in the use of soft tissue lasers for gingival recontouring and minimally invasive surgical procedures.  She has extensive experience with esthetic dentistry, including veneers and same-day crowns.

 Dr. Weizblit is passionate about providing complete dental care to people of all ages in a calming environment. Dr. Weizblit speaks three languages and loves to keep active. When not at the office, she enjoys swimming, hiking trips, cooking, and volunteering her dental services abroad in foreign countries.
